07 February – Annual meeting in NIBA (Monday)
1700 The annual meeting took place in the Irish Embassy in Oslo
A NIBA activity.

 

04 March – “The Archaeology of Dublin – the Norse Capital of the West” (Friday)
1600-1800 in Museum of Cultural History, Frederiks gt. 2.Oslo. A lecture.held by Dr. Patrick F. Wallace, Director of the National Museum of Ireland and a Welcome and Introduction by the Mayor of Oslo, Mr Per Ditlev-Simonsen.

15 March – St. Patrick’s Day Reception (Tuesday)
Reception in the Embassy, visit from Minister of State Ivor Callely, T.D.

17 March – “EU and EEA financial mechanisms and programmes relevant to business co-operation between Norwegian and other European companies” (Thursday)
0830 – 1000  at  The  Euro  Info  Centre in Oslo. Presentation made by Mr. Magnar Ødelien, Legal Adviser of The Euro Info Centre

17 March – St. Patrick’s Day


 
19 March  - St.Patrick’s Day parade in Oslo (Saturday)
1100 - The parade went from the Jernbanetorget, down Karl Johans gate and ended in front of the University building. Jan Erik Rekdal,  Associate Professor,was the “Grand Marshal” this year. There was a strong participation by NIBA members. First prize in the lottery was a trip to Dublin with SAS Braathens.
A St.Patrick Day committee activity, supported by NIBA.

 

24–27 April – NIBA visit to Dublin
A comprehensive programme included:
Meeting with Head of Tourism Ireland about how they foresee the future of tourism and the importance of it as a substantial part of their GDP. Dinner and folklore show at the famous Abbey Tavern. Excursion to Thomas Fergusons Irish Linen factory in Banbridge, with a stop at the ruins of Monasterboice and at the Visitors Centre at Newgrange. Visit to the National Museum of Ireland with a presentation on the subject “Dublin – the Norse Capital of the West” by the Director of the museum – Dr. Patrick F. Wallace, a follow up to the meeting in Oslo in March. Informal lunch with the Norwegian Ambassador at his residence in Dublin.

24 May – “EU’s enterprise and industry policy – priorities for the next five years” (Tuesday)
0830-1000 at the European Commission’s Delegation office in Oslo. Presentation made by Mr Pål Narve Somdalen, Head of Press and Information at the European Commission’s Delegation to Norway and Iceland.
A NIBA / EU-group activity.    

 

08 June – Presentation by Innovasjon Norge (Wednesday)
1700-1900 at NIBA-member Innovasjon Norge’s representation premises in Oslo. They presented to our members their new organisation and their new role in the Norwegian export market.

14 June –  Joint Irish-Norwegian sculptural exhibition “Casting Links” (Tuesday)
1700-1800 Featuring works by Sandra Bell and Kirsten Kokkin in Galleri Pingvin, Møllergaten 13, Oslo. A special showing for NIBA members, where the leader of Galleri Pingvin -  Bjørn Mathisen- gave further information also about other artists shown in the gallery and their works.

AUTUMN 2005
 
 
01 September –Boat trip (Thursday)
1700 – M/Y Arondelle from Aker Brygge. Boattrip is a very popular annual event.

13 September – “The Scandinavian Leadership Model -  a management model of cooperation”  (Tuesday)
0830-1000 at the office of German – Norwegian Chamber of Commerce inOslo. Presentation held by Mr Terje Osmundsen, CEO and  Editor of the paper “Mandag Morgen”.

08 November – “EU Business Law – Useful information for investors, exporters and importers.” (Tuesday)
0830-1000 at the office of NHO in Oslo. By Mr Nicolay Skarning, Attorney-at-Law NHO.

24 November - NIBA “Julebord” - Christimas Dinner (Thursday)
1900 Another very popular annual event. This year arranged at the old Villa Dobloug in Oslo.
